I have a Steel box section column bolted to my trench fill footings via a plate and 4 through bolts. This column is sat between the two skins of the interior/exterior wall, built up to DPC and back filled.
Should I have coated the column to prevent rotting? If so, what with? BI recommended galvanising.
I guess there arn't any other ways of solving this problem without having to pull down the blockwork?
