Does the RSJ Sit Straight onto The Padstone?

I have been proceeding in the "ALMOST" certain knowledge that an 5.3m long 203x203x46 RSJ incorporated in my build, sits directly atop the padstones at each end. i.e. no mortar or anything else between the rsj and the pad stone. Is that correct?

Yes, mortar goes above the steel and below the padstone
