Morning
I'm looking for a video doorbell.
I don't want to pay a monthly subscription.

Must be powered and not battery operated.
Motion detection and person tracking would be a nice features

Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Blink if you are on a budget.
I've been looking and I'm going to buy reolink kit for my setup

I got a Tapo TD21 at Christmas for about £50. Good bit of kit. Easy to set up. No subscription unless you want too connect to cloud.
Has everything you need except its powered by battery.
Charged Christmas down too 50% now
Good clear picture
Connects to phones TV comes in white or black

Lots of cheap door bell cams on the market, most can be permanently wired but not always easy to find suitable route for cable .Other option is a camera by front door ( I have a Tapo ) no door bell but you can’t get to the door without triggering it and offers two way speech .

The Eufy doorbell camera is available (wired or battery) with a hard drive which connects to the router. It allows you to review (from memory) up to 30 days of video via the app on your phone or tablet. No subscription is required. The downside is that the upfront cost is higher because of the hard drive. You will also need a plug in chime so that you will know when someone is at the door (in the event that you don't have your phone on you).

My neighbour has the Eufy and is happy with it, she who no longer talks to me has the Amazon Ring doorbell and pays the cloud based subscription. That said, she also has the Ring floodlight at the back of the property.

Eufy also sell motion detector flood lights which I believe will send video/audio to the hard drive. Again, no subscription required.

I fancy one which has a wide lens, and uses that until it sees something moving. Then it zooms in and uses a gimbal to follow the object about. About £150 from China.

I use a Reolink doorbell, stick an SD card in it and theres no need for a subscription.
The app is ok.
The only thing I dont like about it is the sensitivy needs adjusting twice a year as its sensitivity changes with the seasons.
You will get lots of false triggers, nothing to see, no box showing where it is.
But change the sensitivity and its fine again.

Not a bad camera and it automatically uploads to my FTP server which I like, and yeah no subscription.

I would prefer to get something like this, but all the useful features seem to require a subscription.

That isn't a doorbell though.

Presumably, you would need to use a ladder each time you want to remove the SD card.

Yes, it's not a doorbell. I'm in 2 times. I would prefer the 3 lens camera, as I already have a non-camera doorbell.

Yes, you would need to a ladder, but I would never be changing the SD card during it's normal life.

I would be very suspicious of an item where the image of the CCTV camera itself has been superimposed on all the images. There's nothing showing the camera from a different position.
Even the camera picture itself looks like its computer generated.
Chances are what you will get will be very different.
Other than that, it supports a custom app and 3 mpeg streams. So as mentioned, when that app gets discontinued you will need a DVR to record those mpeg streams unless they are forgetting to mention a web interface.
