Hi Im in the process of installing a texecom system with no previous experience of them and trying to do some testing as I go .Installed all the pir's with EOL wiring which I think are OK.
Now at the stage of doing the door contacts. What I have done is bridge the reed switch contacts with a 4.7k resistor and from one side installed a 2.2k resistor to a spare terminal which I shall connect 1 of the pair of alarm wires, the other wire to the other end of the reed switch.
The readings I am getting on the alarm pair is 6.8K with the door open and 2.2K with the door closed ,Can someone confirm if this is correct before I do the others Thanks

Back again wiring last door contacts ,hopefully some one can confirm this is right. I am wiring 2 door contacts for double doors on 1 zone have wired them I think in series with a 4.7k resistor over each switch .Readings Im getting is both doors open about 11.6k,either door open 6.8k and both doors shut 2.2k.Will the panel work ok with these readings of 11.6k or have I wired it wrong Thanks for any help

When I was in the trade (Lander) I used to run 4 wires from each contact back to a 6way J.B. you can fit a single 4k7 across the alarm contacts wired in series, and use the 2k2 before conecting the tampers also in series -this way you can fit as many contacts as required on a single circuit ;)

And nothing like the wrong way of doing it either, still, Lander all over, that sort of thing is one of the reasons I left.
