Anyone have recommendations for a commercial door access system, to enable easy operation for a remotely situated person: - e.g. typist to operate.
I'm thinking of a wired system, an outdoor station with camera - good resolution and reasonable field of view; and push button or PIR enabled communication at the door; and a desk station wth vdu, inbuilt loudspeaker and simple controls to respond/unlock the door.

Does it need to be video expect to add a grand to the price if so, from a good quality audio kit. I personally use BPT for reliability but they are pricey. How much you looking to spend are you fitting it yourself ?

could always fit separate cctv camera and monitor and audio door entry.

BPT is top kit and worth the money
Videx and fermax are cheaper and come in kit form

Camera and monitor or ip camera a good alternative

you could very easily get a 5.8 remote cctv camera and run a simple video software to project image to a monitor and tie in the remote to the strike on the door and most brands offer a 9 volt remote for inside his or her desk, Quick and easy 3 hrs tops.

careymark24, welcome to the forums, but do read the date a post was made.
Jaymack has probably done the job by now, since he asked the question on Thu Aug 23, 2007
