I have a stud wall that has finished depth of pretty much spot on 100mm
I have planed timber door lining that is about 108mm

is 4mm on each side too much to ask of skimcoat?

should i be thinking of getting 2-3mm off the door lining timber or is there smarter ways to do this?

We allow 3mm for modern skim coat onto boards, 5 to 6mm if installing against bare brickwork unless otherwise insyructed by the plasterer (e.g.lime plaster needs a lot more, etc)
