Hi my main door is a self contained on street upvc one which is half glass, this opens to an internal stair up to my flat. So I was going with a surface mount contact on the door and a pir at the top of the stairs pointing down to the door for the glass cover. Now thinking about a combined shock and contact sensor (Texecom Impaq SC Wired Shock Sensor & Contact in White with VIBER Accelerometer Technology) and do away with the pir.
opinions please ?
Thanks

sorry for yet another question hopefully the last

Is this the main entry door ?
If someone knocks on the door could set off the alarm,go back to pir option.

Thanks yes it’s the only entrance to my flat, door at ground level at side of house, open door and up 13 stairs to my hallway all self contained no one else has access

Unfortunately as pointed out a shock sensor on the main door which people knock at its not such a good idea.

although the sensitivity can be adjusted.
