Family memeber has a typical 1960s/70s dormer bungalow. The flat roof dormer at the front has started to leak.

It looks like a complete strip and replacement is required. From what I have read it seems that GRP is the way to go. It is currently the usual felt.

Just thought I'd pop a posty on here to see if there is anything else I should consider.

Keeping costs to minimum is somthing I have to consider.

I assume it is also the best time to look at insulation levels in dormer. Would this be a standard thing to expect or should they specify a specifc type of insulation.

What would the cost implications be of a pitched tiled roof?

I would assume it would be much more expensive than a small amount of GRP.

I agree that it is the best solution, but money is tight in this situation.

If it helps my bungalow has a current box dormer with flat roof. I'm about to start a hip to gable and my architect said where possible do pitched roof dormers. Less prone to leaks, look better and warmer.
