Morning all,
I'm in the middle of a kitchen renovation, the walls are down to bare brick. Three of the walls are fairly plumb and square and I'm going to batten them out and overboard to create a service void for electrical installation.
The forth wall, which is the external wall had a massive chimney breast on it which I've removed. This has left the wall very uneven where I've knocked off half bricks etc.
Since its the external wall, what Id'd like to do is insulate it. Battening it out will be a nightmare due to it being so uneven. So I was wondering if I could dot and dab 25mm PIR board directly to the brick work (I think I've got a fairly good chance of getting it plumb and square over the rough brick work) and then getting the plasterer to dot and dab over the top of the PIR with plaster board.
Is this possible? Will it all hold up? Would I need any sort of vapour barrier to stop condensation forming if the warm air passes through to the brick work?
