One of our upstairs opening windows, aluminium double glazed, is filling with water. We have nearly two inches in the bottom it started by misting up, now this. I thought about adding goldfish but there is no access to feed them  Seriously though, is it a big deal to take out the glass yourself and replace it? The window is only say four foot high by one and a half wideish.

Bloggs - get your local DG Repair Co out to give a quote for the job. The one we use (London/Kent border) does a 'next day' service. The last time we used them they swapped the glass (maybe a slightly bigger area than yours) with new for £120 - took them 15mins to fit. They came the day before to measure and give a written quote, went away to make it, returned next day to fit.
