Hi all,

I've got a problem with a double glazed window, it simply won't lock. Looks like there is a gap on the same edge as the handle, as though the window isn't fully closing into the frame. The handle does fully turn when the window is open. Any ideas what may need adjusting?

Images arn't showing but the glass in the sash part may need adjusting (toe and heeling), the glass is actually a structural part of the window and if the toe and heeling packers have come loose it may have twisted the frame out of square and thus not connecting properly at the lock.

If they were done recently I would suggest contacting the fitter, if they are out of warranty you need to remove the beading and take the glass out then re set it. There is a load of information online on how to toe and heel I've just fitted all my windows myself with no prior experience so it can definitely be a DIY job.

Some additional information. The window will close and close and lock on the 'night lock' position but not the position that closes it tight.

Did you try redoing the toe and heeling of the glass?

No not yet. Are there any signs that would indicate whether it needs doing? i.e. would the glass be sat at a different depth in the frame?

It would be hard to tell just from looking, from doing mine I've noticed just a few mm can make all the difference, try re uploading your photos we still havn't seen them yet.
