Had my windows and front and back doors fitted this week and not paid them as there is still work to be done but wondering if people would accept this as up to standard as to regards to the cement work done to replace the damage caused from the removal of wooden frames and doors?

They've put too much cement in to fill the gaps and the bottom of the windows and doors curve inwards and give an unsightly line in my view!! Not told them about this yet as only really recently stepped out the house to look at them properly.

The company who fitted them fitted a relative's windows years back and the company has been going for 30+ years so I thought I would be fine but I'm not happy with the work and they said when I signed the contract that if I wasn't totally happy I don't have to pay them. Am I being picky or is the work sub-standard and not what you would expect? Am I within my rights not to pay them?!?

even if your not happy with the work you will have to pay for the work and hold a bit back until the problem is resolved perhaps 5 to 10%

yes the cement has slumped a bit but suspect after painting it wont look half as bad

they will probably just chip it out and redo with a stiffer mix or in 2 lots
tell us what they say when you talked to them ??

It's certainly not a cowboy job, they just needed to make the compo a bit straighter thats all.

I'm sure they will agree with you it needs digging out in parts and making better. 1/2 a days work.

Hope it goes smoothly
