Double pole 3A fused connection units - do they exist?

I'm just about to install a bathroom fan off a lighting circuit. The fan instructions say that it must be protected with a 3A fuse and a double pole isolator. Is is possible to have these two functions combined into one accessory?
Or do I have to fit both? I don't really want two accessories outside my bathroom door, so could the FCU be in the loft (which is accessible?)

Any ideas gratefully received

Yes, of course. FCUs are commonly DP, and they have a receptacle for a standard cartridge fuse (the same type that is put into "13Amp" plugs). As well as 13Amp, these cartridges are available in 5Amp and 3Amp variations such as you might use for a table lamp (there are also some lower current ones that are not so widely sold).

The FCU (or at least the DP switch) should be fitted where it is visible, immediately accessible, and its purpose is obvious (so if not next to the device controlled, labelled) so that it can readily be used to isolate the appliance in an emergency or for maintenance.

I didn't realise that FCU's were automatically double pole (no reference to this in suppliers info - I guess they just assume we all know!) I do now!!

There might be some FCUs that are not DP; I think older or cheaper ones. As far as I know all the major brands are DP (MK, MEM, Crabtree, even Volex and Marbo). And of course some FCUs are not switched at all!
