The Fire place is down stairs but the chimney breast runs up through my bedroom.I'm having sliding wardrobes so the socket will be hidden .Can i sink a backbox into the chimney breast or should i just use a surface mount socket .
obviously the surface mount would save some work but wont look as neat.

The fire is used now and then in the winter

thanks

Cant see why not, as long as you dont bash to hard and dislodge the bricks or penetrate the flue area.
standard box can be as slim as 25mm and the brickwork will be 100mm at least possibly more
