The socket is part of a ring circuit and will have 2 cables, with 2 x earth, live and neutral wired to the existing socket, there should also be an earth cable between the socket and back box earth post (if the back box is metal).
Provided yours is as above you need to run a 2.5mm TE cable terminated in the existing socket on the existing E, L and N.
