Down lights

Hi could anyone post a link as to the regulations of when fire hoods have to fitted to down lights. Have had a quote that says that they have to be fitted, but i was under the impression that this was only the case on a fire rated ceiling. Would really like to read up on this.

yeah, fire rated ceiling. Waste of money otherwise.

Fire rated ceilings occur domestically only between flats and above garages.
