I have replaced my downlights with 4. 240v 50w halogen bulbs.Switched the light on ,it worked fine with the switch downstairs and up stairs landing as well (Two way switch) .About six weeks later i switched them on nothing.I have checked the H/bulbs,fuses.There is only live to the switch and not to the lights.I am at a loss to what it can be?

If you definitely have 240V at the switch yet the lights do not work in any of the four switch positions then

there must be a loose/broken terminal on the switched live conductor either at the switch or at the ceiling connector or

the neutral at the ceiling connector (assuming usual wiring arangement).

240v to the switch, on the four position switch there is live on the hall light.
On the landing there there is no sign of life .Is it possible the switch could be the problem. As i have removed the switch from off the wall .i notice there are two red wires one is live the other is dead.
