Only have two rads on the ground floor both on drops from first floor.
Plenty of water flowing from flow and return. Cant seem to pull any hot water in to the rads, valves are fine. Pump sounds a bit rough but spinning. three way valve seems good. The boiler is a Potterton 45 back boiler. The room stat does nothing. A bit of a mess. Can anyone help?

One solution is to fit thermostatic valves to the upstairs radiators, then when each in turn hits its target, the water will be passed on to the remaining open ones downstairs.

Has the system ever worked properly, ie; do the rooms upstairs get warm enough?
If they did work properly? Has someone altered the settings on the lock shield valves to more quickly warm the rooms upstairs?

Nearly all bungalows and houses with solid floors have drops to the downstairs radiators, that in itself doesn't stop them working.

Do you run the heating long enough for the home to warm up?
