Hi All. We would like to refit a downstairs shower room to a wetroom. The old shower tray is over 100mm high from memory. The waste is just over the DPC from the pic. Is there any way a new waste pipe system can be set lower to allow for a wetroom or even a lower shower tray to be fitted without making the DPC unsafe? I'm sorry if this is a silly question but just trying to look at all options! Have had advice from one fitter that it's simply not possible and options are fitting a stud wall inside and somehow creating new waste system or screeding entire room to raise floor. Appreciate any advice thanks!

Wet rooms have a drain outlet in the floor connected to the underground drain system.

It's possible to do, not difficult, but the person doing it needs to have a clue.

Thanks Woody. The only other waste pipe would be from the wc which is on the opposite side of the room.

You can get an above floor fitted pump that pumps from a floor drain.

Get specialist advice from firms that fit these wet rooms, not run of the mill plumbers or builders.

Thanks. You are absolutely right. I'll need some specialist advice on this one
