Hi, we have had all new double glazing but we still have the original front door which when painted looks nice and will see us through a few more years yet but where the plaster meets the wooden frame inside it’s cracked and letting in a fair bit of cold air, what’s the best most durable product for filling this please?

Depends on size of gap. Filler or sealant if its less than about 10mm works. For bigger gaps and more insulation, expanding foam is generally used however I'm not sure if the foam is good for wooden doors, so hope you get input from others about that. Also check the sealant on outside of door frame is sound.

I used foam around our door, then trimmed it level with the frame and used filler to fill the gap between wall and door frame internally - however my door is inset, like a window frame, rather than flush with the wall.

Hope this helps - those draughts are awful aren't they!?
