drain off cock

Hi guys just a quick question.
I have always used the doc fitted at the lowest radiator in the c.h. system to drain down the system. What is the doc in the boiler for? If i used that one i would certainly not be able to drain the whole system down as it is located above the radiators level!!!! Thank u in advance 4 the clarification.

It will be for draining the boiler, obviously dont know what boiler you have. Some are very heavy and the last thing you want is loads of water in it (extra weight) if taking it down. Plus if work is req on heat ex it makes life easier.
