Due to the design of the WC pan I can't see or get at the bit where the plastic 90 degree soil pipe slips onto the ceramic outlet of the pan. I can only assume, as its a new bend, that the rubber seal is OK as it all looks "horizontal" and squared up. Where the other end of the bend goes into the hole in the floor and I can get at it all, looks OK and I have smeared tones of grease around the top to create an airtight seal. It still seems to pong and as its a cloakroom its a small space as well.
Now, I know the part that goes on the pan could be a poor seal but as I can't get at it in situ I need to remove the pan smear some "stuff" on the outlet and push the pan back onto it to ensure a good seal. Any ideas on what to use or a better method?
