Hello.

I want to add some drainage when I lay my new patio. I'm going to lay some Linear/channel drains against the garage, across te path and house wall and want to connect to drain pipe pictured below. Can anyone advise how I go about this and what parts may be required to connect it all up.

Many thanks!

A connector for the channel, then a trap, bend, and T or Y junction to connect to the existing and a plastic to clay connector if existing is clay

You may have to connect further down, and probably end up renewing that downpipe connection too

Thanks for your reply,

If its clay underground i presume its not a simply DIY project then?

If plastic is it a case of exposing pipe taking a hack saw to it and reconnecting with appropiate fittings??

Looks like it is clay so think I best get the pros in. Any idea on rough cost of running 9 meters of linear drains then connecting up?

Going by your other post and taking the approx age of the house, it's fair bet you've got 'Supersleve' drains. Clay pipes joined with plastic collars, (same arrangement as the chamber in your other post).

Nothing to be frightened of, simply expose the pipes and find a suitable point where you want to connect the Linear drain. Remove clayware up to that point (it will pull apart with a bit of persuasion!) and simply replace the clay to clay collar with a clay to plastic collar. Carry on from there in plastic drain.
