Hi,

I am looking to do something with my driveway to improve drainage etc.

Currently it is a mix of gravel (on top of something like concrete) and tarmac. The drive is between our house and the property boundary which is the west coast mainline cutting.

At the moment the water runs off the drive, albeit slowly, onto the railway banking as there is quite a slope that way.

I want to level it off and install a linear drain infront of the garage. Would I be ok (get away with) the drain just running off onto the banking? The actual surface drains are at the other side of the house and I didn't think diverting more water into surface drains was good when it used to be absorbed by the banking...

TIA
