How difficult is this?

I've ordered a new cylinder and plan to take out the old and install the new this weekend.

I've been told this is the most difficult part of the job (draining down the old, that is).

As you've probably guessed by now, I'm no plumber but feel confident of taking on the whole job. Am I being realistic?

Any advice appreciated!

Draining and removing an unvented cylinder is straightforward for diy but installing one is not.
You have to be qualified in unvented systems and ensure all the relevant safety features are installed correctly.

Get it installed professionally

I wouldn't install an unvented hot water cylinder and I'm a plumber and gas fitter. That's because I haven't got the ticket and wouldn't want to risk the thing exploding and possibly killing the occupants.

I've got the ticket but I didn't know they had people living in them

You mean they do all those amazing things on their own ?!!!
