Hi,
the heads on my TRV4's are starting to need replacement due to the plastic becoming brittle and the knurled ring breaking off.
I sourced a used replacement from a relation which doesn't work, and on checking the mechanism, there seems to be a difference. The old valve actuator (?) pin is solid whereas the replacement is sprung.
When I put the replacement on the valve, the radiator goes cold even on the warmest setting. It seems to me that either the spring is too strong for the valve or that I am not replacing like for like.
Has there been any change to the mechanism over the life of these valves or am I missing something?
Cheers
Ray
