Do you need to do anything with these valve heads when fitting them on the return side of the radiator like you would with Danfoss TRV'S. I notice numbering on the black plastic valve head is this for balancing.

You dont use TRVs for balancing. Just stick the head on and it will control room temp. Simples :D

You can put them now on flow or return as they are bi-directional.
The numbers are temp settings.

You balance the system with the other valve, be it on the flow or return.

No, they can go on either end without any changes. The head can be either hosrizontal or vertical.

I notice numbering on the black plastic valve head is this for balancing.
If you are talking about the numbers surrounding the pin, then these are for balancing, but you need a special spanner to do this.

You can stick them on either side of the rad, but in general it works best if all the trv's are on the flow and the rads balanced with a lockshield on the return.
