Drill a hole in Christmas tree to water it?

I used to stick the tree in a bucket of sand, then fill it with water.

I can't do that to EFL.. He just being friendly. He means no harm..

May be too late now unless you use Amazon next day delivery but we've used a 'Large Hydro Christmas tree stand' for years. The trees can easily drink a couple of pints a day with the heating on.

I think i’ll go for one of those next year, just saw a similar one on the Dragons Den.
