I've got a load of holes to drill through a cavity wall with rockwool insulation in the cavity. Every time I do this the wool winds itself round the bit and pulls it out from wherever it is placed.

Is there a way to prevent this with SDS and/or core drills?

Blast through it nice and quick? Can’t say I’ve ever had this issue, for core drilling I always just get a bit of rockwool in the core bit along with the bits of brickwork, for sds I’ve never noticed any insulation on the bit, it tends to remain in situ. Maybe something about your particular kind of insulation?

Ok, must be because when I've done it before it's been half-finished walls or stud walls and wood drill bits.

Will just go for it then. Didn't want to do anything to damage my newbuilt extension!
