Hi I have bought one of those angled drill chucks to go round corners but the chuck only goes up to 10mm drill sizes and I wanted it to hold up to 1/2" like the common size chucks you get.

I got a new 1/2" chuck to go on it but after removing the screw on the angle drill chuck and then unscrewing the chuck I see the threads are different. The new chuck has a 1/2" UNF thread it says and will hold drills up to 13mm but the one on the angled drill chuck is much smaller.

Seems like some sort of converter is needed, is there such a thing and does anyone know where I would get one? I have looked on the internet but didn't find anything.

I know putting a bigger chuck on will put more strain on the angled thingy but I wont be doing very heavy work with it, I just need it to accept bigger bits.

Any help appreciated.

You might find it less trouble and expense to buy an bigger one.

(edited: I see it is only the adaptor that is too small, not the drill. It has probably been made to a small size because the gears are not strong enough for a bigger bit)

as johnD says best look for the the correct size probably easier the diffirence between 10 and 13 mm is pretymuch double the load on the circumference so not just a little bit more :D :D

what exactly do you plan to "drive "with the angledriver

Hi thanks for the answers, mostly I will use it to drive hole saws through floor joists to run cables and central heating pipes, etc.
