i need to hang a wall mirror on a tiled wall. They are ceramic, not porcelain. The wall itself is dense concrete with a S&C render.

Looking at tile drills, I see some look like TCT masonry bits, some are spear-like, and the Bosch ones have a sort of pointed head.

I'm planning to put tape on the tile to avoid skidding, and start slow.

(I have discounted diamond as I only want to make 4 holes)

Is there a preferred type?

no, any TCT bits of the right size will do.
take a nail set, or similar, and hand grind it into the mark for drilling, and it will open up the surface of the tile.
