Hi,

I joined the forum to see if someone had any suggestions to help me with a problem I have had for over 4 months now and tried desperately to fix to no avail.

I have a mixer tap that is constantly dripping and only getting worse. I have tried every fix I could see from googling from replacing washers to using plumbing tape but apart from a few weeks of it stopping the tap continues to drip.

I have called every plumber in the area but it is obviously not a big enough job as none have called back or when they do they just dont show up.

The thing I have noticed about the dripping, and I do not know if this will be relevant at all, the water streams out when I run the bath or the shower.

Could someone please suggest anything to me as I ant to try fix it before I bite the bullet and replace the tap. Only put it off so long as Victoria Plumb have discontinued the range and it matches our bath taps and shower controls so really want to keep it.

TIA.

It's the best advice.

Unless your tap is branded, it can be a real problem to source the cartridge that you probably need. Try Vic Plumb, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Most of their taps are probably Chinese made. Buy something like Bristan or Ideal Standard taps. They're good quality, and spares are readily available.
