Dripping shower head, but why 'renew the thermostatic cartridge'..?

If the head is dripping, surely it is the flow cartridge that needs attention (i.e. re-seating or replacement)?

The User Guide explicitly mentions the (vastly more expensive) thermostatic cartridge, whereas the (cheaper but harder to obtain) flow cartridge does not get a mention.

Hopefully someone can improve my thinking

Might be worth knowing what Shower you’re talking about 1st . Some might be a combined unit.

Just looked in the manual, it doesn’t mention the thermostatic cartridge nor the flow valve. Firstly try removing the flow valve and check the seating and rubber washer if one is fitted.

Normally the flow valves are a standard 1/2" 1/4 turn ceramic flow valves, cheap as chips. Pull the flow valve out of the bar and check the sizes then just get a generic one and try it

I guess .... hardly worth it though given the price of a new valve is only a few quid.
