This section of driveway slopes towards the hole in the picture. There is a stream where the blue lines are so ideally rainwater should flow in that direction. The rest of the plot correctly slopes and sends rainwater to the stream.

These are the options I'm considering:

1. Fill the hole and screed the area to send surface water onto the paving slabs. Reseat the paving slabs to send surface water into the flower bed. The flower bed is next to the stream so that's probably sufficient.
OR
2. Fit a gully in the hole. Dig a trench and add an underground drainage pipe leading to the stream.

Any other suggestions welcome.

If the stream ever floods up, fit a backflow prevention device so the stream doesnt fill the yard via the drainage pipes
