Drone Novice

Just ordered a strobe for it tonight. As said, may make it easier to see in the day and I might do a bit of night flying.

Invest in a bumper pack of blades etc.
Take several with you when you go on holiday with it.

Fun, I wish I had one.
I got a helicopter many years ago, took it to the park - took off went 6' then crashed.
Put it in the eaves and gave up.

Came today. Tiny. Very tiny. Very bright too. White, green and red with combinations of them all. Dying to try it out but it’s pishing down at the moment.

I might not be cut out for this drone flying malarkey! Had a night flight tonight with my new flashing LED. Bloody great, so bright and can see it so easily. I had the green flashing as the white was just too bright. Anyway, I sent it down the street again to have another peek at the progress that the builders are making with adding another floor on a block of flats. Got a good picture:

Only problem was, just like last Saturday, I finished up with trembly achy arms and a stiff neck! I didn’t get that with the other drone I had. I think it’s just nerves - worrying all the time in case I lose it or crash it. Maybe I won’t feel as bad or tensed up when I had it for a while. More practice needed. Much more!

Have been near any military air bases recently?! :p

You been spying in flat windows?

Switch off will you. It's Christmas.

All you do is Drone on & on.
We're going to our sons for Christmas dinner. Mrs Mottie has said I can take it with me to show it to my grandson. I’m charging the batteries up as I type.

What sort of book needs Batteries ¿

Happy Christmas mate hope you enjoy it.

First proper sunny day I could get out with it. A couple of recordings from this morning. Hopefully my flying, filming and editing will get better as time goes on!

I bought a cheap drone yesterday, just to have a play with the idea - claiming an HD stabilised camera, in a charity shop yesterday. After charging the battery, it failed to fire up, so I have just returned it for a refund.

I'm now looking at DJ1's and RG601 MAX, the latter particularly, as it seems much higher specced than the DJ1, and cheaper into the bargain. I was looking at the version with object avoidance.

Anyone got any thoughts on why not? I was thinking it would be handier for checking my roof, and gutters, more easily, than the recent struggle we had trying to wave a selfie-stick, out of a bedroom window, plus a neat 'boys toy'.
