Droning renault clio noise

Have developed a droning noise on my 1995 clio, seems to be coming from FNS when car is moving - any ideas what it may be

Possibly a constant velocity joint on it's way out, these things seldom fail without warning.
Have you noticed any strange noises when turning sharply, ie. going round a corner?
