Hi, I have just made a mould to make a stone window cill and want to make it out of cast stone - either bath or cotswold. Does any one know the mix needed for these ?
No idea though i would deem it a specialist product.
They are available as stock items from places such as 'Tudorstone'.
The make up of these cast stone items seems to be a highly compressed sand mixed with a colourless binder or one that is the same colour as the finished product and not cement coloured if you know what i mean. They are also dry cast or semi-dry cast to give the appearance of natural stone as opposed to a tighter wet cast product like paving slabs for instance.
yes it is to match although i cant decide yet on original colour as they are over 200 years old. I was going to cast them in my garage flip it over on to a board then let it dry. I have worked in stone industry before but mainly wet cast and mould making so dont know what went into the mix
