Drywall adhesive prior to tiling

As it is quite a large area for dry-wall adhesive. I would give at least a three days, so all the moisture in the compound has dried. You do not want to be trap the moisture between tile and wall or your tiles could fall off.
Yes I would recommend prime prior to fitting tiles.
But you must read the manufacturers instructions on the tile adhesive you use, as they will inform you of the priming methods.
