Hi
I am in the process of fitting a kitchen and I have a cupboard that is to be fixed to a plasterboard wall and was wondering what is the best way to fix it to it.
Is it best to cut out the plasterboard and fix some ply behind there or is there a easier way because will any of the plasterboard fixing be strong enough?
Thank you

What’s behind , hollow, block work , brickwork, timber?

For a single cupboard I think the most reliable way is to cut out a section of plasterboard, insert a plywood or possibly softwood pattress between studs, then reinstate the PB and make good (with filler). It's easier with a run of cabinets because you can use a long hanger rail with multiple fixing points to spread the load.

What about the bullfix fittings they say they are suitable up to 116kg
How thick is the plasterboard? Is it dry and in good condition? Not that keen on heavy point loads onto single skin PB - seen a few failures over the years with different types of fixing. Ideally pattresses should be incorporated into all kitchen stud walls, but often aren't
