Dual flush toilet - automatic or manual flushing

Hi

Just had a Laufen Pro dual flush toilet installed yesterday. It has a Twico II flush button (within the button there is another smaller square shaped button). I understand pressing the smaller button is the 3L flush and pressing the larger button around it only, is for the 6L. Currently as soon as I take my finger off the button the flush stops, for either size flush. Surely this cannot be right? Toilets these days should be automatic now?

Might be a Swiss bog - but did a Pro install it - or is he just laffin all the way to his ( swiss) bank . Get the installer back M8 .
