Hi there,

Random question I know, but I've dug out a 5mx 5m x 3m Deep hole for a new soakaway which has left me with some rather large piles of grainy/gravelly sand.

I'm not sure what to with it as I expected the hole to be solid clay down to 2.5 m as my test hole was and planned to just ship out the clay.

Anyone got any idea if this stuff is good for anything? I'm about to dig out two new tracks/drives and put a large extension on my house so If I could use this stuff, even temporarily, for something useful I'd rather that than dump it in (my) wood at the bottom of my garden

any ideas?

The previous owner of our property had footing dug out for a barn and as there is a paddock attached to the land he had it dumped in a mound to shield the property from the road. It also helps with noise reduction.

Or you could make some motorbike/bmx jumps for your kids if you have any

Or make some raised veg beds and mix some of what you have with compost/manure.
