Hi folks, laid a few floors with a fibre board substrate but my daughter feels she wants Duralay Silent walk - as a favour to the downstairs neighbour and to reduce the general noise level. Can this be used with fibre board?

I wouldn't bother either way. Your daughter has already done most of the damage to the downstairs neighbour by fitting hard flooring. It might be called silent walk but I can assure you that's just a name. If she's really concerned about the neighbours then stick with carpet and underlay.
Slightly too quick of the mark there matey, my daughter moved into the place with a rubbish laminate already down and the woman downstairs is the owner.
