Dyson vacuum cleaner cable fail

I'm unsure of the different Dyson models available, but a standard upright Dyson, has repeated mains failure, due to the power cord twisting, and need to effect a permenent fix, but how to access where the cord is located within the machine? To enable the cord to be re-attached correctly? Otherwise a temp fix that is unsatisfactory would be fitted.

What is required to be removed, and where are the access to this?

Any relevant information appreciated. Any links to a blown up model? With part numbers?

The make and model might help. I don't have a dyson vac, never had.
But at the point where the cable enters the appliance is usually a good starting point, to source the screws fixings, it's quit possible the final termination is somewhere near the on/off switch, so could be a plate there that unscrews.
Failing that as temp measure, if you can identify where the damage to the cable is, you could consider a cable connector.

If your flex has an auto wind it will effect the reel pulling back, but if it's a manual wrap, will be okay.

In the earlier Dyson vacs that have problems with cable failure, access to the cable entry is underneath the yellow push button for the on off switch. This can be a pig to remove & needs a thin strip pushing down the flat side to release the securing clip while at the same time pulling the button upwards. There are other posts on this subject if you do a search. Once you get it replaced ensure that the cable is always unwound & kinks removed before use & rewound properly after. It does seem to be a weak point in the early models, I think they tried to save money by using cheap cable.
