I am putting in a new metal sink into a Utility room which is labelled as having to be earth bonded. I have checked the house and the metal sink in the kitchen has no bonding on it, also the taps in the bathroom have no bonding on them. The only bonding I can find is from the water inlet to the consumer unit. The pipe work in both the utility and kitchen is a mixture of copper pipes, plastic pipes and both copper (compression and soldered) and plastic push fittings.

Do I actually need to install any additional earth bonding and if so do I need to link back to before plastic pipe or fittings are used?

kitchen and utikity are excempt aslong as there is no shower or bath in them!!

the bathroom bonding requirements have changed in the last 12months or so - a pig to install as a retrofit.

Thanks for the reply :D

Does this mean I can leave the bathroom as it is as it was fitted sometime ago, long before I moved into the house about a year ago? I have also since noticed that the taps of both the bath and sink have flexible connectors onto the pipework which are a plastic push-fit.
