hi....do earth clamps in a bathroom need to be accessible or visible...the reason i ask is that in a downstairs shower room, the copper pipes have not been bonded...
The room consists of a wash basin ,toilet and thermostatic shower.3 downlights and extractor fan......there is no bonding between hot and cold pipes on wash basin or on the thermostatic shower....there is only about 3 cm of pipes showing through (so difficult to put clamps on) and also all the walls are all tiled..the only accessible place is the ceiling where all the pipes are visible and accessible which is being replastered so is it ok to bond all the pipes together up there and connect to earth on either the light or switch???? if not it means taking alot of tiles down to chase and re-tile....

also the lights and extractor fan have already been bonded together (even though they are on same circuit) using 4mm cable...all the earths are connected to a earth block in the ceiling and then goes to the light switch...is this method o.k....

one more thing....
the boiler (that is in the kitchen, next door to shower room) hase got 4 copper pipes bonded together but not connected to anything else..this was done by the plumber..and said it was a corgi regulation....shouldnt these also be connected to the supply of the boiler....

These should be connected with a 4mm earth wire into the same block as the lights and fan have been. As they are bonded together in a location that is adjacent to the bathroom this will complete the necessary equipotential bonding. The boiler earth will connect to the main earth block in or by the CU, this should have a main equipotential bond to the water system, that fulfils the requirements.

On visibility, all screw operated connections must be accessible, not necessarily visible. If that accessibility requires a bit of board lifting I'd be happy as long as I didn't have to dismantle the place to get to it.
