Dear All,
Do the points of connection for earth bonding in a bathroom have to be visible or is it acceptable to connect earth bonds to pipes in the cavity wall or under the floor where they won't be visible?
you have to be able to prove that they are there.. under a bath is ok because you can get to them to see them.. permanently in a wall is probably not ok..
Our bathroom is upstairs; the pipes go into the loft. Therefore, could I earth bond the pipes in the loft which we have access to or does all the bonding have to take place in the bathroom (I'm also thinking about bonding of a towel rail radiator, too)? If so, do you know if there are any "pleasant looking" bonding tags that I could use?
You can bond the pipes before they pass through the bathroom wall. Often this can be done in an adjacent airing cupboard where they can be inspected but are not visually intrusive. Alternatively you could bond under the bath, if the panel is removable, or behind the basin pedestal.
