i want to replace a kitchen light with one that requires an earth but there is no earth to the light ,ive noticed there is an earth wire connected to the pipe work in the bathroom thats goes back to the cu is it possible to use that has my earth

If you need an earth it is allowable to take an earth from the CU and run it in close proximity to the L & N for that circuit. If you're going to that trouble, you might as well re-wire. If this freaks you out, just buy a double insulated fitting.
