I've just moved into a property where a central heating system was retro fitted.
There is an earth wire running along the top of the skirting board from the radiator in the bathroom to the water supply to the cistern.

2 questions:

1) The wire is attached to a braided flexi tap connector at the cistern end. Does a braided flexi provide earth continuity?

2) As this wire is unsightly where it is, can I re-site/re-route it? Can it not be run from the heating flow pipe around the boiler to the mains cold water pipe supplying the (combi) boiler?

A flexi tap connector is not a suitable earthing conductor.

In all probability no earth is required there but I cannot tell you that because I have not seen your installation.

Probably a result of a bodge DIY job.
