Hi all,

I am looking at replacing a traditional light switch (black & Red wires) with a switch that has an earth wire? Where do i connect that to given there is no existing earth on the wiring?

You don't. In fact you don't connect the switch at all.

If the switch requires earthing, eg because it has a metallic faceplate, you cannot safely use it on a circuit that does not have an earth condudtor.

Maybe he can, he's in Australia - I didn't know they even had electricity down there!

Rob, would you llike to post on the "Outside of the UK" forum?
Or would you like to be more truthful about your location?
