i think someone posted a link to a table which let you know wheather or not you needed a seperate earth for swa sizes/types.
could anyone point me in that direction please?

Bear in mind most modern cable is xlpe which has a smaller armour than PVC cable so be sure to use the right table.

Its just basically table 54G from the regs applied to a list of the CSA for different cables, any that comply are green and any that don't are red, a red one doesn't automatically mean you can't use the armour, but if you want to see if you can still use it, you need to check compliance with the formula in 543-01-03 and a lot of people just prefer to select a different cable instead of calc'ing it
